About me:

An electrical Engineer by qualification and an IT Project manager by occupation, I like to think of myself as a person who is concerned about the world that our children are going to inherit, as much as about the progress in our own lives. And who continually keeps making an effort to make it better.  economy, environment, managing our kids' expectations and meeting their expectations at the same time are some of the important goals.

I will take care of these, one at a time.

I was Born in Jabalpur, India in a lower middle class family, and had a very interesting childhood ranging from city of Jabalpur to our parental village in UP and various towns in chhattisgarh thanks to my father's moves for his job.

In 1988 I joined Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya which was a government funded school mostly targetted towards uplifting rural students. One of the smartest moves was to keep 20% of urban students and that's how I got in. While the rural students, each of which was the topper in their locality, learnt a lot from rest of us and the relatively advanced school; We, the urbans learnt a lot about life from them. In fact I remember in 6th standard we had fellow students who had left their wives at home, thanks to the child marriage system prevalent there. And some of them went on to become well qualified doctors and engineers.

In 2000 I completed my degree in electrical engineering from JEC (Govt. Engg. College then) Jabalpur. Immediately after I joined Infosys technologies and the next 6 years I spent there were probably the best in terms of my personal and professional development. I was also able to pursue my fitness and adventure interests which I could not when at home because like any other parent, mine were very bullish on all study and no play. And I can proudly say that attitude is what kept me out of trouble and helped me achieve what I am today. With this thinking, My kids are going to hate me for their first 30 years LOL.

I got married in 2005 and was blessed with a son an year later. while the fitness, adventure and "let's go" moments have been on a constant decline, the sense of responsibility and content with what I have been doing is on the rise, and i have new goals in life now. In 2008 the second one was born and this completes my family.

Last 4 years have been a another change in life with our move to US. While being a (potential) immigrant brings it's own challenges, I have enjoyed every bit of being here, assimilating with the culture, society, learning the financial systems all have been an enriching experience.

I hope my blog will give further insight to my life and thought process in general, enough with narcissism now :-).
